How ILL SWAP works
How ILL SWAP works
ILL SWAP is an ad-free, peer-to-peer platform for swapping music material and technology within Victoria.
The vision is trading well-loved items locally so they might inspire others and enrich our musical community.
It is also my small protest to surveillance capitalism and the devaluation of art and artists in our modern times.
Steps for Swapping:
- A lister clicks "Post a Swap" to list an item, describe its condition, include photos and suggest what they're seeking in exchange.
- People search through Swaps and browse items. Interested bidders can "Make an Offer" on that listing.
- Listers receive an email detailing the bidder's offer and the option to reject or accept it. If a lister accepts an offer the two parties are connected by email. They arrange a meetup to inspect the items and finalize the swap. Win-win!
What if I need to edit or remove a listing?
After a swap is posted, listers receieve a confirmation email which contains links to edit or delete the posting. This is similar to a system used on craigslist.
I want to feature my song on the site radio. How?
To feature your song on our community radio, send a named .mp3 file to [email protected] and a link to your artist's page.
Songs will be posted on ILL SWAP Radio and streamed alongside a button that links to your artist page.
*Limit one song per artist so send in something that you really love.
Does ILL SWAP guarantee a trade between sellers?
ILL SWAP is only a coordination platform to connect listers and bidders. We do not guarantee any exchanges or take any liability for the outcomes of swaps. Users of this site are reminded to use it at their own risk and with a "buyer beware" mindset.
Who runs ILL SWAP & why?
ILL SWAP is a passion project by Victoria musician Sasha Ilnyckyj (ILL SASH). I was inspired by a desire to recycle music technology like nutrients in an ecosystem. To find new hands for beautiful art & tools.
